Fortuitous Monuments est une série de Workshops de sculpture publique sauvage que j’ai donné dans le cadre d’une résidence à Never Neverland, Amsterdam. Les participants étaient encouragés à utiliser des matériaux trouvés dans les piles d’encombrants et à improviser des assemblages monumentaux éphémères.

Working with the daily flow of discarded domestic items flourishing at every street corner in the Bijlmer neighborhood, and inspired by temporary public monuments - celebratory altars, gold calfs, gibbets, victory arches and barricades - participants will be encouraged to create in-situ sculptural interventions using found on site materials. These attempts will make use of reglemented waste disposal procedures as a framework of action and reflexion.
Anticipating the collection of bulky waste by the municipality, the workshops will take place on thursday evenings before the waste is collected on friday mornings.
